Erin also routinely represents both patentees and petitioners in post-grant proceedings before the PTAB. In her prosecution practice, she assists clients with global management of their patent portfolios and has successfully argued on their behalf before the PTAB in ex parte appeals.  Erin holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Over the last 7 years at Altria (Philip Morris USA), Kamran has managed a wide portfolio of litigation, business counseling and regulatory matters. Kamran supports the Research & Development Department, the Regulatory Affairs Department and the Marketing Events Group. Kamran is the Chair of the Altria Law Department’s Diversity Committee and is involved with various diversity-related efforts on a local and national level.


Prior to joining Altria, Kamran was a Partner in the National Products Liability Division of Shook, Hardy and Bacon (“SHB”). At SHB, Kamran’s practice focused on products-related litigation and regulation. Kamran has been involved in the defense of complex products liability and civil RICO cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Kamran was a longtime member of SHB’s Search Committee (Hiring Committee), as well as a founding member of SHB’s Diversity Committee.


Kamran received his J.D. at Southern Illinois University School of Law and a B.A in History at the University of Florida. Michelle N. Ankenbrand is a Lead Administrative Patent Judge at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Judge Ankenbrand joined the Board as an Administrative Judge in 2014 and presides over trial proceedings under the AIA and appeals arising from adverse decisions of patent examiners. Prior to joining the Board, Judge Ankenbrand had an extensive career as a law clerk, including at the Delaware District Court, where she clerked for the Honorable Gregory M. Sleet for six years, and the Federal Circuit, where she clerked for the Honorable Raymond C. Clevenger, III. Judge Ankenbrand also taught patent litigation and enforcement at Rutgers School of Law. More recently, she practiced IP law in Delaware, with a focus on patent litigation in the district courts and at the Federal Circuit. Judge Ankenbrand graduated from Union College with a B.S. in Biochemistry, and received her J.D. from Villanova School of Law..

The group focuses on alternative investment, asset management, corporate finance and capital markets, securities and wealth management for institutional, corporate, high net worth, and retail clients in various countries. CLSA is owned by CITIC Securities Co Ltd, the largest full-service investment bank in China listed on the Hong Kong and Shanghai Stock Exchanges.

 

Agrawal is a subject matter expert in tax transparency regimes including FATCA / IGAs, CRS, LEIs, anti-tax evasion regimes such as CbCR and MDR (BEPS/OECD); tax withholding arrangements including QI and DTAA; and regulatory compliance including AML, KYC. He has rich experience in reviewing, withholding and reporting for all the client structures as well as the investment structures. He is the representative of the group for purposes of regulatory liaison, registrations and reporting for such tax transparency matters across jurisdictions. He is a frequent speaker at industry seminars on these topics and contributes towards establishing best practice standards across the industry.

 

Agrawal obtained his management degree from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in 2007. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI), and Certified Management Consultant (CMC) with the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI). Amit Gupta is currently the Director – Tax for Dell Technologies (including legacy EMC) – Indian subcontinent based in Bengaluru (India). Amit is responsible for all the tax matters of Dell Technologies (including legacy EMC) in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Mauritius. Amit reports directly to the Global Head of Tax (Sr. VP, Tax) of Dell Technologies (including legacy EMC) based in Austin, US.

 

Prior to relocating to Bengaluru, Amit was based in Singapore managing taxes for Dell in the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region. In this role, Amit was responsible for all the tax matters across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, India and Singapore.

 

Prior to joining Dell, Amit was the Tax Leader (VP) at GE Capital in India where his responsibilities included managing taxes (corporate and indirect) for various legal entities and advising/implementing tax efficient structures for equity investments, cross-border funding/loans, leases, joint ventures and acquisitions. Amit has also worked as South Asia Tax Manager for Intel and inter alia managed transfer pricing audits, negotiations with Government on tax holidays, duty/tariff reductions and exemptions. Prior to joining Intel, Amit has worked as Senior Consultant at Arthur Andersen/E&Y and was advising clients on various indirect tax and corporate tax matters and started his career with Kellogg in India as Financial Analyst. In his career spanning more than 23 years, Amit has managed tax functions end-to-end i.e. from tax planning to tax controllership/compliance.

 

Amit is a qualified Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, Grad. Cost & Works Accountant (CWA), Bachelor of Law (Law Graduate) from KSLU and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours).
